#00- The Trilaani Train

00 hails from Trilaani Parrish on Jamaica's north shore (ironically the same Parrish as Usain Bolt). He started on the Jamaican Montego Bay Crab Racing Circuit. While there, he was able to post over thirty wins with no defeats. The competition wasn't the strongest and he seemed to run "just fast enough" to get the victory. Seeking bigger challenges as well as bigger paydays, he headed to Vera Cruz on the Mexican Gulf Coast, planning then to go north through Brownsville, Houston, eventually ending up in Indiana and Sonny's Crab Racing.

While spending a week racing in Tampico he ran into the legendary EMR in a bar on the Calle Juarez. El Mas Rapido (EMR) was then considered the fastest crab in the world, undefeated in 70 races, routinely running six-second preliminaries, and was the first and only crab to break the magical "five-second" barrier on a tournament size table. A conversation ensued, with a lot of "I beg to differ"s and "With all due respect"'s ending with EMR challenging the Jamaican to a race, there on the bar. The regulation distance was marked off with ashtrays, a makeshift hooker was conjured, and they were off and hauling shell. Unfortunately, the DJ wasn't ready with the stopwatch, so the official time will never be known. But the amateur timekeepers in the crowd are all in agreement that EMR had run his personal best, maybe even pushing four and a half seconds. The Trilaani Train, on the other hand, ran "just fast enough" to win, again. While certainly not a sanctioned race, the few witnesses were certain that they had seen a crab cross a squam (the distance from start to finish on a Tournament sized table) in four seconds.

Word spread and 00 soon received dozens of requests for personal appearances, delaying his trip to Sonny's Crab Racing. He finally made it to Folkie's in June of 2019. He was drafted, went into the Paddock, and sometime before the first race, climbed out and headed south.

He turned up back home in Trilaani Parish and currently lives in a luxury terrarium in Ocho Rios in the lobby of the Moon Palace Resort. Interestingly, it's just a few miles up the coast from the beach that played Crab Key in the James Bond film Dr. No.

00 ended his career with over 120 starts and no losses. He often ran six-second races, but never broke five-seconds. When asked why he climbed out of the Paddock, he'd shrug and say "I don't know Mon". Once asked if Tampico was a fluke, as he hadn't broken five seconds since, he smiled and said, "Never had to".
