#22- The Tres Rios Thunder

#22 began life in the eastern part of the Mexican State of Quintana Roo near Tres Rios. He spent 17 months on the Yucatan pro circuit and while his numbers weren't incredible, he gained a reputation for not missing a race, winning at least a preliminary heat in 92.392% of the races he ran. Not a bad accomplishment on a schedule as brutal as the unforgiving Mayan Riviera track.

When he came to Sonny's in January of 2016 he began by finishing 4th, then 3rd, and then 1st in his first 3 races. While the statistics that he posted weren't outstanding, his 367-day career still stands as the league record. He also had 10 wins with 2 Corvettes.

His career was most notable for his activity off the table during the 2016 Synthetic Sand Slowdown. During his time in Mexico, the Mexican owners started using synthetic sand in the training Crabitats, despite warnings that synthetic sand was directly linked to a 37% rise in cheliped injuries. When US owners tried the same ploy to save money, #22 led a slowdown that saw the leagues average Days Between Races (DBR) rise to 11.3. More than double the league norm. Due to the slowdown, synthetic sand has been banned from use in training and racing.
