Intimate crowd for this evening’s proceedings. Quite a few new Racers with us. Congratulations to Bacon & Robots Racing. This is their third consecutive race (maybe fourth). They’re now an Officially Sanctioned Crab Racing Team and therefore eligible to win points and compete in The Chase. Jim and Brenda come back to the Races after a long layoff. Goondock Saints have a small group, and I think some of the Independents this evening are spun-off GSR folks. A group calling themselves The Crabby Old Farts log their first appearance. My buddy, the Patriots fan, and her chum are on the Row along with Mike and Sheila, BNR, and the omnipresent (between November and March anyway) WHITASITA. Steve’s away this evening. After back-to-back wins, Chainsaw Sisters Makes the strategic mistake of getting into Number Four’s Semifinal. I guess that’s the way the Crabs crawl.
Brenda takes Race 16 and grabs Third Place just to show she’s still got it. It was good to see them back again. Emily makes full use of Flag Holder’s Luck and win’s the whole thing. A night for the Independents, taking eleven of sixteen Preliminaries and three of four Semis. The Crabs run a racy Minus Eight (that makes them Minus Eighteen for the last two races here) and a good time is had by all.
Superhero Crab racing will be the Theme when the Crabs come back to Folkie’s on February 20th. Pick ‘em at Seven Thirty, Race ‘em at Eight. See you there.
